Storms Possible, Plus 90-Degree Temps In Illinois
Temps will be in the 90s on both Saturday and Sunday, with a chance of thunderstorms on Friday night and Saturday.

ILLINOIS — The weekend will feature no relief from the heat, and there will be chances of thunderstorms throughout. Storms are first possible Friday afternoon and evening, the National Weather Service said. There is a limited risk that these storms could become strong to severe, with the greatest risk of storms north of I-80. Storms could result in locally heavy rainfall.
Saturday has a 20 percent chance of storms, and it will be hot with a high of 93 degrees, according to the NWS. The heat index for the day will be closer to 96 degrees. There's also a chance of storms late Saturday night into Sunday.
Sunday will be hot as well, with another high of 93 degrees. According to the NWS, it should be dry and mostly sunny. The hot temperatures also look like they'll stick around for the start of the work week and in the days approaching the Fourth of July. Both Monday and Tuesday have highs in the 90s with chances of storms.

- SUNDAY: Mostly sunny, with a high near 90. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.
