Temps In The 90s, Strong Storms Possible: IL Weather
The heat index on Tuesday could get up to 97 degrees.
ILLINOIS — While weather Monday is expected to be cooler and rainy, temps will hit 90 degrees on Tuesday and stay in the upper 80s for the rest of the week. According to the National Weather Service, there will be hot and humid conditions Tuesday with a high of 94 degrees. The heat index will be between 94 and 97 degrees.
Thunderstorms are then possible Tuesday night, mainly north of I-80. Wednesday will have a high of 88 degrees, but strong storms are possible, the weather service said. Storms are also possible Wednesday night, mainly south of I-80.
Thursday should be dry, but still warm with a high of 87 degrees. The weather service said there is a chance of storms and rain on Friday, which will have a high of 86 degrees.
