ILLINOIS -- After temps in the 40s and 50s on Friday, the weekend will be much warmer and sunny. According to the National Weather Service, the high for Saturday is 66 degrees while temperatures on Sunday will shoot up to 78 degrees.

The NWS has issued a lakeshore flood advisory into Friday evening, due to the winds and gusts. The winds of 20 to 30 mph could cause some minor shoreline flooding and beach erosion along the Illinois and Indiana shoreline, the NWS said. Waves could also build to be 8 to 12 feet.

Winds will continue into Saturday, with gusts up to 30 mph, the NWS said. Sunday will be warm and sunny, with gusts up to 15 mph and a chance of thunderstorms on Sunday night.
