Thankful on the morning after Christmas.

Hope and Friendship Foundation appreciative of all the hands and feet that made the 20th Christmas Outreach the very biggest and best ever!

It’s the morning after Christmas and all is right
Because a Village of walking angels made Christmas for many so very bright.
There was the hustle and bustle of creating bags stuffed with needs,
And the call out for food to meet the demand for whom this foundation feeds.
159 was the magic number to meet.
Hundreds more were the numbers of the walking angels’ hands and feet.
You may have offered deodorant, shampoo, toilet paper, cologne, or shaving foam,
Or perhaps you rallied your family together, to cook and bake, caring for others from your home.
All in all, the needs were met.
At first it looked like too many to fed, but we should have known not to fret.
Hundreds of Care Boxes and Bags, Special Wish Lists, and Christmas Dinner Boxes were filled.
When this delivery arrives, the stress of these struggling homes would surely be temporarily stilled.
The volunteers were so many that arrived on Christmas Day,
They gave of their time on such a special holiday, and jumped into to help in any which way.
Then just as the 3pm delivery hour did approach,
The line of cars appeared out of nowhere pulling up to the sidewalk to receive their special deliveries like Cinderella’s coach.
Patience, kindness, generosity, gentleness, peace and love radiated throughout the entire event,
The smiles, the hugs, laughter rang through, the reunion of old friends and making of new, was something not even the threat of rain could circumvent.
The cars were loaded with the precious gifts and off went the drivers lickety quick,
They arrived at home after home, homes with hardships, losses, life-blows, and some who were sick.
No judgment was cast, there was work to be done.
Each person that helped knew that hardships are not just felt by one.
By 4pm the deliveries were all enroute, bringing light, love and hope to many,
Is there a better way to see Christmas love in action, I don’t know of any.
Thank you to all who made year 20 the best Hope and Friendship Christmas Outreach EVER,
May you know that the magic, love and light, that we felt happen yesterday truly will be reality and treasured memories forever.
Thank you for your time, effort, generosity, kindness, patience, and of course the laughter!
Wishing you peace, love, and Christmas magic in your everyday hereafter!
