Thanksgiving Week Weather: Snow, Then Warm-Up For Illinois

After some snow on Monday, the rest of the week will be warmer and dry.

While we can expect a dry, slightly warmer Thanksgiving Day, first there will be some snow on Monday. According to the National Weather Service, snow showers are possible Monday afternoon and evening. Light lake effect snow showers will also occur in northwest Indiana and eastern Cook County on Monday night. Temps will be in the mid-30s on Monday and Tuesday.

After Monday, temps will start to warm up and the snow will stay away. Wednesday and Thanksgiving itself have a high of 42 degrees. With the warmer temps, there is a chance of rain on Friday, the NWS said.

The snowfall this weekend was estimated to be about 1 to 2 inches for most of the area. According to the NWS, O'Hare has had 3.6 inches of snow this month, which is the most snow this early in the season since 1989.
