Three LHS Student Athletes Make College Commitments
Jacqueline Aleman, Austin Nagel and Tessa Scarlati have all made college commitments for their respective sports.
LEMONT, IL — Three Lemont High School seniors have made commitments to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level. LHS said midfielder/defender Jacqueline Aleman has committed to play women’s soccer at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point; wide receiver Austin Nagel has signed a National Letter of Intent to play football at Illinois State University; and libero Tessa Scarlati will play women’s volleyball at Olivet Nazarene University.
According to LHS, here are some career highlights for each of the athletes:
Jacqueline Aleman

- Three-time letterwinner for head coach Rick Prangen
- Has played in 67 matches over three seasons, totaling 46 points on 12 goals and 22 assists
- Lemont has posted a composite record of 55-13-8 during her career, won three South Suburban Conference titles, and twice advanced to the IHSA Class 2A State Finals
- Earned All-SSC honors and All-Sectional accolades from the Illinois High School Soccer Coaches Association as a junior in 2017
- Plays travel soccer for the LG Celtics
- Also a member of the girls’ basketball program
- High Honor Roll student
- Will play for head coach Dawn Crow at University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, an NCAA Division III institution that is located in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, and is a member of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Crow guided the Pointers to 9-8-2 record and a fifth-place finish in the WIAC standings this fall.
Austin Nagel
- Two-time letterman for head coach Bret Kooi
- In two varsity seasons, posted 79 receptions for 1142 yards and 16 touchdowns, averaging 14.5 yards per catch
- Led the team in receptions, yards receiving and touchdown receptions two straight years
- Helped the Indians to a 21-3 record, two South Suburban Conference-Blue Division titles, and two IHSA Quarterfinal appearances
- Earned All-SSC and Joliet Herald News all-area accolades as a senior in 2017
- Mu Alpha Theta inductee
- High Honor Roll student
- Will play for head coach Brock Spack at Illinois State University, which plays at the NCAA Football Championship Series level, is located in Normal, and is a member of the Missouri Valley Football Conference. Spack led the Redbirds to a 6-5 record this fall, and guided the program to three consecutive postseason berths from 2014-16.
Tessa Scarlati

- Two-time letterwinner for head coach Chris Zogata
- In two varsity seasons, totaled 635 digs, 815 serve receptions, 235 service points and 63 aces
- Averaged 5.00 serve receptions and 3.90 digs per game over 163 career games
- Led the team in serve receptions, serve receptions per game, digs and digs per game each of her varsity seasons
- Twice named as her team’s “Best Defensive Player”
- Helped the Indians to a composite 46-27 record and two South Suburban Conference championships
- Earned All-SSC honors as a senior in 2017
- Plays club volleyball for 1st Alliance
- National Honor Society and National English Honor Society inductee
- High Honor Roll student
- Will play for head coach Brenda Williams at Olivet Nazarene University, an NAIA institution that is located in Bourbonnais, and is a member of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference. Williams has won nearly 600 matches in her 22 seasons, and led the Tigers to a 26-12 record and a conference runner-up finish in 2017.
