Thunderstorms Possible, Temps In The 60s: Illinois Weather

Storms and rain are possible throughout the week, before things look to dry out on Friday.

ILLINOIS — Storms will be possible throughout the week, and temperatures may reach 70 degrees as we approach May. Temps will start in the 60s on Monday, with a high of 64 degrees, the National Weather Service said.

Showers could hit the area in the afternoon and it will be windy with gusts up to 30 mph. Tuesday will be even warmer with a high of 72 degrees, but there is a chance of storms in the afternoon and evening.

Wednesday will cool down slightly with a high of 59 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Thunderstorms will again be possible Wednesday, especially after 2 p.m., and rain is likely throughout the day.

Thursday also has a chance of showers, and temps will stay in the 50s, with a high of 58 degrees. Finally, Friday will be dry and temps will warm again up to 65 degrees, according to the weather service.

TUESDAY: A slight chance of showers before 8 a.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 68. South wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
