Thunderstorms, Rain Sticks Around In IL
Rain is possible several days this week, and storms could hit the area on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

A week of active weather is possible for the Chicago area, starting with a chance of thunderstorms on Sunday evening. The National Weather Service said showers are expected to develop along a cold front on Sunday afternoon and move into parts of the region by the evening. A few thunderstorms will be possible mainly north and west of a Waukegan to DeKalb to Dixon line.
Monday could also feature some showers and thunderstorms, and it will be warmer with a high of 76 degrees. The NWS said the greatest thunderstorm chances will be along and south of I-80 during the afternoon and evening. A few storms could be strong with a threat of small hail and gusty winds.
Tuesday should be mostly dry with a chance of showers in the morning, according to the NWS. It will be slightly cooler with a high of 63 degrees. Another storm system is possible on Wednesday and into Thursday. The rain on these days could lead to renewed river rises and additional flooding.
