Unseasonable Cold, Light Snow For Illinois As March Begins

It will be fairly cold as we enter the beginning of March, and temps will mostly be in the 30s.

LEMONT, IL — High winds will continue through midnight on Sunday, and minor tree damage and sporadic power outages are possible due to gusts of up to 50 mph, according to the National Weather Service. The NWS said observed maximum wind gusts on Sunday included: 62 mph in Wheeling, 58 mph in Morris and 56 mph in Chicago.

It will be fairly cold as we end February and enter the beginning of March, and temps will mostly be in the 30s. The NWS said unseasonably cold weather will start off the week, and wind chill could get down to -20 on Monday morning.

Light snow is possible throughout the week, and there is also a chance of rain and snow on Friday, the NWS said.
