Volunteers Needed For Lemont Quarries Work Day

Volunteers are needed to help clean up and restore five acres of natural area within the Heritage Quarries Recreation Area.

LEMONT, IL — Volunteers are needed to help clean up and restore five acres of natural area within the Heritage Quarries Recreation Area. The village said volunteers will help the area by removing invasive species and planting trees.

The restoration will be held from 8 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 28. The program is possible because of a grant from CITGO Lemont Refinery.

According to the village, volunteers will check in at Lemont High School and will be taken by bus to and from the work site. Volunteers should wear a long-sleeved shirt, long pants and appropriate shoes; and should also bring work gloves and a refillable water bottle.
