Warm, Mostly Dry Week Ahead For IL

A few isolated storms are possible Monday from I-80 and south, but severe weather is unlikely.

ILLINOIS — The week ahead in Illinois will be warm with temps in the 80s, and there is a slight chance of showers and storms on Monday. According to the weather service, a few isolated storms are possible Monday from I-80 and south, but severe weather is unlikely.

Brisk northeasterly winds will also develop Monday night over Lake Michigan, and cause large waves and strong currents with dangerous swimming conditions at the beaches, the weather service said.

The whole week will have temperatures in the 80s, although Tuesday will be just slightly cooler with a high of 80 degrees. The weather service said temps will then warm back up with a high of 83 on Wednesday, 85 on Thursday and 86 on Friday.
