Stormy Weather, Cool Down Ahead For Illinois

Monday will be hot and humid, while the rest of the week will remain in the low 80s.

The rain and chance of storms will return to the area this week, as there are chances for storms on Monday, Thursday and Friday this week. According to the National Weather Service, Monday will be the hottest day this week, with a high of 87 degrees. There's also a chance of storms during the day Monday, most likely south of I-80.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be slightly cooler, and the highs for both days are around 80 degrees. Both days should remain dry, although dangerous swimming is expected on Lake Michigan beaches on Tuesday, according to the NWS.

A chance of storms returns on Thursday, most likely in the afternoon or evening. Thursday has a high of 83 degrees, while Friday has a high of 80 degrees. A chance of storms could also stick around on Friday and Friday night.
