Weekend Weather For Chicago Area: Isolated Storms Possible

This weekend's temperatures will give a break from the recent humidity and heat.

After a week of heavy rain and flooding, this weekend should be pretty calm. While there is a chance of isolated storms late Saturday into Sunday, temperatures should remain in the 80s or upper 70s.

According to the National Weather Service, the Chicago area is set for comfortable weather through Monday, with less humidity than this past week. Saturday will be mostly sunny, with a high of 83 degrees. Sunday will be another comfortable summer day, with a high of 84 degrees. There is a slight chance of isolated storms and showers on Sunday.

Earlier this week, the northern suburbs got hit hard with heavy rain and flooding in many towns, as a graphic from the National Weather Service illustrates.

According to the National Weather Service, northern suburbs like Elgin received 7.31 inches of rain, followed closely by Gurnee with 7.22 inches of rain.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 61. North northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 81. Light and variable wind becoming west southwest 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.
Saturday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 a.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 65. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
Sunday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 79. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming north northeast in the afternoon.
