Wet, Cool Weather Pattern To Break With Dry Sunday In IL

ILLINOIS — After several days of rainy and cool weather, the pattern will break on Sunday. Before dry weather on Sunday, however, the National Weather Service said there will be rain Friday night and all day Saturday.

Saturday will be warmer than days past, with temps most likely in the 70s rather than the 60s. The weather service said there is a chance for isolated thunderstorms on Saturday, with locally heavy rain possible. Severe weather is not anticipated, however.

Finally, the sun will make an appearance on Sunday. The weather service said Sunday is expected to have a high of 75 degrees, and should be mostly sunny and dry.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Isolated showers before 7 p.m., then a slight chance of showers after 4 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 61. East northeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

SATURDAY: A chance of showers, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 8 a.m. High near 70. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

SATURDAY NIGHT: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 8 p.m., then a slight chance of showers between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. Low around 60. West wind around 5 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent.

SUNDAY: Mostly sunny, with a high near 76. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming north northwest in the afternoon.

SUNDAY NIGHT: Patchy fog after 5 a.m. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 56.
