'What Are Those Wings': Lemont's Newest Art Project
The wings appeared suddenly on the side of Quarry Pub and Grill in July.
LEMONT, IL — If you've driven down State Street any time over the last few weeks, you may have noticed a new addition to Quarry Pub and Grill. A pair of white wings suddenly appeared on the side of the building in July.
The wings didn't magically appear, they were painted by high school freshmen Neha and Nooriyah. The two girls are responsible for the newest artwork in Lemont, and the project is funded entirely by donations from the community.
In a post on Facebook, the Lemont Center for the Arts showed how the girls traced the design from a projector. Several people have also already started taking pictures in front of the wings, which have recently been filled in with bits of scenery from around Lemont.
