6 Inches Of Snow Possible: IL Winter Weather

ILLINOIS — After several days of light snowfall across the area, the National Weather Service has also issued a winter weather advisory for most of Illinois. The advisory is for Winnebago, Boone, McHenry, Ogle, Lee, DeKalb, Kane, La Salle, Kendall, Grundy, Lake, DuPage, Cook and Will counties from 6 p.m. Friday to midnight Saturday night.

The weather service said snow will be moderate but at times heavy Friday night and overnight into Saturday. Total snow accumulations will be between 2 and 6 inches.

There is also a potential for isolated snow totals above 6 inches away from the lake before snow ends Saturday morning and afternoon.

The weather service said snow-covered, slick roads are possible Friday evening, and snow could increase quickly toward the end of the evening commute.
