13 Lake Co. Businesses Fail Tobacco Compliance Checks

LAKE COUNTY, IL — Thirteen Lake County businesses failed tobacco compliance checks, authorities said Wednesday.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office checked 67 business during the compliance checks in March and April, according to a news release. The compliance checks are meant to ensure businesses selling tobacco products display proper tobacco sale signage and are following appropriate identification procedures to ensure products are not sold to anyone under the age of 21, authorities said.

The following businesses failed the checks and the following clerks at the businesses were cited:

• Shell Gas Station, 41867 N Route 41, Wadsworth. Clerk: Akber A. Mir
• Toor's Citgo Truck Stop, 16470 W Russell Rd, Wadsworth. Clerk: Sandeep S. Uppal
• Wadsworth Crossing BP Gas Station, 39105 N Route 41, Wadsworth. Clerk: Marilyn A. Rothschild
• Love's Truck Stop, 43100 N. Route 41, Wadsworth. Clerk: Juvenile
• 7-11 Convenience Store - Oasis, 13845 W. Oasis Service Road, Unincorporated Lake Forest. Clerk: Syed R. Tahir
• Circle-K Gas Station, 20020 N. Route 12, Deer Park. Clerk: Joani A. Brito
