80 New Townhomes Proposed For Libertyville Project

The village board approved rezoning a plot of land at the intersection of Route 137 and Milwaukee Avenue to make way for the development.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — Developers are taking moving forward with the approval process for a new townhome development in Libertyville.

On Nov. 23, the Libertyville Village Board approved a request to rezone a plot of land acqt the intersection of Route 137 and Milwaukee Avenue to make way for the townhomes and also gave their nod of approval for a concept plan and plat of subdivision for the development, according to the Libertyville Review.

The development could include 80 townhomes and plans for a new road and more parking for businesses to the north and east of the development is also in the works, according to the news article. Residents are concerned the new development could cause traffic woes and school capacity issues.

Developers with CHILM Libertyville Residential LLC will now be tasked with fine-tuning the plan before it heads back to the planning commission for public hearings and then before the village board for a final vote.
