$85,000 Severance OK'd For Libertyville Village Administrator

Christopher Clark served as village administrator since December 2016.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL – An $85,000 severance package has been approved for Libertyville's village administrator Christopher Clark. The Libertyville village board on Tuesday OK'd the settlement agreement but did not release anymore details into why the village and Clark decided to part ways.

The approved agreement includes six months of severance pay for Clark and the village will also pay for health and dental premiums for Clark and his dependents through Sept. 30, 2018, according to village documents.

Clark was hired in December 16, 2016 and was placed on paid administrative leave in recent weeks, according to the Daily Herald. Chris, who is the former Cary village administrator and has 20 years of municipal experience.

Village administrators tend to stick around once they land the post in Libertyville. The village has had only three village administrators in the past 51 years. And now, its third village administrator, Christopher Clark, is on paid administrative leave after nearly 1.5 years on the job, the Daily Herald reports.

In his absence, Kelly Amidei, Libertyville's deputy village administrator will serve as an interim administrator. The village board approved the move to have Amidei step in for the time-being and she will serve in the role through April 30 or until a new administrator is found.

She will be paid an annual salary of $165,000, according to village documents.
