Advocate Condell Medical Center Ranked 3rd Safest Hospital in Illinois

Libertyville, Ill. – Advocate Condell Medical Center was ranked Illinois’ third safest hospital in Consumer Reports® 2015 Annual Safety Study. The report, which ranks the safest and the and least safe hospitals was released this week.

Consumer Reports analyzes publicly available measures such as federal Hospital Compare data. The safety score is a summary of ranking from five categories: hospital acquired infections, unnecessary readmissions, mortality, appropriate use of scanning, and communication about medication and hospital discharge. Additional measures include patient outcomes, hospital practices, heart surgery and patient experience surveys (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems or HCAHPS).

Advocate Condell also was named among the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals for two consecutive years by Truven Health Analytics.

In addition to Advocate Condell, Advocate Good Samaritan was ranked third safest hospital. Advocate Good Shepherd and Advocate Lutheran General were named among the top ten safest.
