Man Hit, Killed By Car In Lake County Identified

LAKE COUNTY, IL — A 59-year-old Beach Park man was hit and killed by a car Monday in Zion.

The collision happened at about 5:45 p.m. at the intersection of 33rd Street and Sheridan Road in Zion at about 5:50 p.m. Monday, according to a news release from the Lake County Coroner's Office. The man killed in the collision has been identified as Darren Lucas.

Lucas was taken to Vista Medical Center East following the collision where he was pronounced dead in the emergency room.

Preliminary results from an autopsy show Lucas died from blunt force injuries as a result of a crash.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the Zion Police Department.
