Independence Grove Concert Series Returns With Summer Lineup

There will be nine Tuesday shows in Libertyville featuring tribute bands, local acts and lakeside views.

LIBERTYVILLE — The popular summer concert series at Independence Grove Forest Preserve is returning with a mix of tribute bands, local talent and lakeside views.

A special patriotic performance is planned for June 30, when Wayne Messmer will perform the National Anthem and “God Bless America” in honor of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

Lineup Highlights

The 2026 season includes:

Brett Newski & the Bad Inventions (June 9) – Indie/alternative rock
Peach Jam (June 16) – Allman Brothers Band tribute
Rocks Off (June 23) – The Rolling Stones tribute
The Insiders (June 30) – Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers tribute
Second Hand News (July 7) – Fleetwood Mac tribute
American English (July 14) – The Beatles tribute
Brooklyn Charmers (July 21) – Steely Dan tribute
Nashville Electric Company (July 28) – Country
Hurricane Reggae Band (Aug. 4) – Reggae

Forest preserve officials said the long-running series continues to draw crowds each summer.

“For more than two decades, Concerts in the Plaza has been a summer tradition at Independence Grove,” Forest Preserves President Jessica Vealitzek said. “These evenings bring people together to enjoy live music in a relaxed outdoor setting.”

What To Know

Admission is $20 per vehicle after 4:30 p.m. on concert nights
All ages are welcome; guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets
Food and drinks are available on-site, or visitors can bring their own picnic
The Beer Garden is open during concerts with local craft brews
No pets are allowed, except service animals
Parking is limited and no rain dates are scheduled

The entrance to Independence Grove is located off Route 137 in Libertyville.
