NORTH CHICAGO, IL — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents detained a person who was driving with a child in North Chicago on Wednesday as federal agents were again seen conducting enforcement activity in the Lake County area, according to reports.
Federal agents were observed Wednesday morning in both Waukegan and North Chicago, where witnesses reported immigration-related enforcement activity, according to Lake and McHenry County Scanner. In North Chicago, ICE agents stopped a blue four-door sedan in the area of 11th Street and Jackson Street in North Chicago at around 8:20 a.m. and detained the driver while a child was present in the vehicle, the report said.
The incident comes amid continued sightings of federal immigration agents across Waukegan and surrounding Lake County communities in recent weeks, according to the article.
