GURNEE, IL — An 11-year-old girl was taken to the hospital after a near-drowning at Six Flags Great America Hurricane Harbor in Gurnee on Saturday afternoon, authorities said.
Gurnee firefighters responded around 4:35 p.m. and found the girl out of the water, conscious, breathing and talking after she was pulled from the water, according to the Lake & McHenry County Scanner. Six Flags paramedics began treatment before transferring her to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where she was reported in stable condition.
Officials said the girl is expected to survive, but the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation, according to the article.
