2 Rescued From Partially Submerged Car In Mundelein

MUNDELEIN, IL — Two people were rescued after their Nissan sedan drove into a drainage culvert and stream at Courtland Commons Park in Mundelein Sunday afternoon, fire officials said.

Mundelein police and fire crews responded around 12:57 p.m. to the area near East Courtland Street and Midland Avenue, where the car was found partially submerged beneath a pedestrian overpass, according to Lake & McHenry County Scanner. Firefighters rescued both occupants, and neither required hospitalization, though one firefighter was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
