GURNEE, IL — Gurnee Mills is preparing for a busy fall, with several new retailers and restaurants set to open at the shopping center, including a new-format IKEA store.
According to the latest announcement from Gurnee Mills, IKEA is expected to open in late fall 2026 in the former Sears Grand area in Parking Lot B, next to Hobby Lobby. The 66,000-square-foot store will feature more than 5,000 products, with more than 3,000 items available for immediate pickup.

The new openings add to a series of changes at Gurnee Mills as the shopping center continues to bring in new retailers and entertainment options.
IKEA's Gurnee Mills location will be the company's third store in Illinois and will use a smaller-format concept designed to provide customers with a mix of shopping, planning, pickup and delivery options.
The new IKEA will offer more than 5,000 products displayed in room settings designed to reflect the needs and styles of Chicagoland customers, according to Simon Group. The store also will offer planning services for kitchens, wardrobes, living room storage and other home projects.
