Crews freed a man pinned against a barrier, treated multiple victims, and transported three people to Condell, where the most seriously hurt are recovering from non-life-threatening injuries while state police investigate the cause.
• Illinois yields again on assisted suicide – this time for Muslim doctors (becketfund.org) — A Libertyville pulmonary specialist is among four Muslim doctors who just won temporary protection from Illinois' assisted suicide law, after a federal judge ordered the state not to enforce the mandate against them. The physicians, citing religious beliefs, argue they should not be required to discuss or facilitate life-ending drugs, and their case could shape how end-of-life rules affect local patients and providers.
