The ‘Seeds of Hope’ fundraiser was a successful evening of reconnecting with Friends of COVE and new friends that have become acquainted with one man’s dream to reach out to the orphaned and vulnerable children in Kapeeka Uganda.

Fr. Hilary inspired us with a successful message from Uganda. The primary children have continued to develop a reputation as accomplished students.  The Medical Dispensary is now registered with the Ugandan government, which has improved their medical services and they have become an even greater asset to the community.

It was an evening of enlightening news, interactive dancing-including the traditional Ugandan dance, and shopping for beautiful items at the silent auction. Guests visited the African Store and made their selections at the Pick-A-Prize. Congratulation goes to Mrs. Susan Wynn, who was the winner of the new iPad.

Kate Lee (a delegate to Uganda in the summer of 2011) and Laura King sang, ‘I Believe’, while her video of the children was being viewed by the audience. It was inspiring.

Thanks to the guests, donors and volunteers, the fundraiser was successful. Many vulnerable children were sponsored. A matching donation, of $3,000 was provided by a very generous donor. All of the funds received will benefit the COVE Alliance’s education and healthcare projects in Kapeeka, Uganda.

Thank you to anyone who participated in any way!
