Armed Man Attempts To Steal Skid Steer, Caught By Police Dogs: Cops
Adam Frank of Lake Zurich now faces felony charges. The incident happened Friday on north Milwaukee Avenue in unincorporated Vernon Hills.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — A Lake Zurich man armed with a semi-automatic pistol tried to steal a skid steer from a home near Vernon Hills early Friday.
Adam Frank, 41, of the 0 to 100 block of Evergreen Street in Lake Zurich, fled the property in the 24800 block of north Milwaukee Avenue in unincorporated Vernon Hills after he tried to drive the skid steer off the property and was confronted by a 40-year-old man who lived at the property, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
Frank showed the man he was armed with a gun, threatened to shoot him if he called police and then took off on foot.

Deputies as well as Lake County Sheriff's Office K9 Drako and Mundelein Police Department K9 Ranger responded to the scene at about 3:15 a.m. The police dogs tracked Frank for about a mile before finding him hiding in a wetland area.
He then surrendered to police, and authorities found a semi-automatic piston on Frank, according to the news release. He has been charged with armed robbery, a Class X felony; theft over $500, a Class 3 felony; and aggravated assault.

Frank is being held in the Lake County Jail on a $500,000 bail. He is next expected in court on Aug. 25.
