Stepson, Stepdad Killed In Domestic Situation Identified: UPDATE

The Lake County Coroner has also revealed preliminary findings from autopsies performed on the men Monday.

GURNEE, IL -- Authorities have identified the two men killed in a "domestic situation" in Gurnee Friday evening. Ozell Sampson, Jr., 50, and Tony Butler, Jr., 30, both from Gurnee, were found dead in the 4200 block of Harper Avenue at 5:31 p.m. on Friday, according to authorities. The Lake County Coroner on Tuesday said preliminary findings from autopsies on both men show Sampson died from multiple gunshot wounds and Butler died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Gurnee police said Sampson was Butler's stepdad. Authorities would not elaborate on what lead to the domestic incident. Toxicology results are still pending, police said.

“This was a domestic situation and a tragedy for the family involved," Gurnee Police Chief Kevin Woodside said. "This incident poses no danger to the community and our thoughts and prayers are with the family.”
