Authorities ID Driver Who Led Police On Chase, Rammed Squad Car
Police say the man is still at large after he rammed a squad car in Spring Grove and led police on a chase that ended in Waukegan.
SPRING GROVE, IL — Charges have been approved for a 35-year-old man accused of ramming his truck into a police squad car and then leading authorities on a chase that spanned from Spring Grove to Waukegan over the weekend.
Police have identified the suspect in the Saturday chase as Brandon M. Vice, 35, of the 20 block of Grand Avenue in Fox Lake. Eric Decker, a detective with the Spring Grove Police Department, said Vice is still at large, and police are hoping the public can provide tips, including any social media posts regarding Vice, that could help them track him down and take him into custody.
Vice is wanted on charges of aggravated fleeing and eluding, possession of a stolen vehicle and driving while a license is revoked and more charges are pending, Decker said. Vice is also believed to have been involved in similar fleeing incidents in other jurisdictions, he said.

Officers with the Sugar Grove Police Department first attempted to stop a 2005 Ford F350 pickup at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday on State Park Road in Spring Grove, according to authorities. The vehicle, which authorities have since determined was driven by Vice, did not stop and ended up ramming into a patrol car while trying to flee the scene, police said.
Vice is accused of then leading police on a chase that crossed into Wisconsin and ended in Waukegan where he crashed the vehicle, Decker told Patch in an email response Tuesday.

Vice then fled on foot and remains at large. Spring Grove is more than 25 miles from Waukegan but authorities are still working to determine for how long and how far officers pursed Vice's vehicle.
Anyone who can provide police with information that would assist them with identifying and arresting the driver are asked to call the Spring Grove Police Department at 815-675-2596.
