Gorski was found in his car after dispatch received a report of a “slumped” driver in the area of Milwaukee Avenue and Hollister Drive in Libertyville at 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 23, according to police.

When they arrived, they found Gorski in the dark-colored Volkswagen Jetta, Christopher Covelli, spokesman for the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force, said in a press release.

Libertyville firefighters and paramedics arrived and took Gorski to Advocate Condell Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased. Preliminary investigation shows the man suffered a gunshot wound.

An autopsy conducted on Sunday revealed the manner of death for Gorski was homicide, Cooper said.
