9 Days Without a Fridge!

That's right. We went 9 days without our fridge working, not by choice by the way.

That’s right. We went 9 days without our fridge working, not by choice by the way. It was almost like a episode of Gilligan’s Island, what started out as a simple repair turned into a mess of wrong paths until finally just yesterday it was finally fixed. The positives and the negatives about the fridge being out of commission just happened to be the same for me. It was good that we went to the store each day and got fresh food for the one day only and it was also a pain in the you know what to have to do that. Which leads me to the goal of this post, be a better planner starting today.

A good friend of mine “flies by the seat of his pants” which in some cases is fun and exciting to see where the next turn will take you, whereas I am the opposite. I feel the want to plan and organize so that I have a path or direction to navigate towards. There are definite pros and cons to each and a light switch at times I believe is the right approach, knowing when to turn one on and the other off.

So I invite you to turn on the light switch for the planning mode today. Plan your workouts, plan your meals, plan your rest, plan your fun. By planning it you make a certain commitment to doing it. You make a conscious step to making it a priority and reality.

In the spirit of planning, BeWell Fitness is hosting a second workshop this month called Ready to Run? The goal of the workshop is to help you plan for the upcoming weather change and increased activity running outside. Time and time again I run into, pun intended, runners who think running slow the first mile is a warm-up. I am here to tell you that is called running not warming up. If you are not stretching before and doing the proper strength and CORE training the odds of you getting through a running season without ailments or injury significantly increases. There are relatively 1,200 steps per mile, depending on your gate! Now each step that you take has a 2-3x bodyweight compression on your joints. You do the math and you will find the amazing amount of compression you need to withstand to run long distances, which is where strength and core training come in.

Join us Saturday April 20th at 930am for the workshop.

Members will be $10 and non-members $15, but if you bring a friend you are both $10.

RSVP to info@bewellfitness to reserve your spot.
