Celebrate MainStreet Libertyville’s 35th Anniversary at Inaugural Gala
MainStreet Libertyville to host gala event on April 27th to honor 35 years of success in promoting and preserving downtown Libertyville.
MainStreet Libertyville, a volunteer-led, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization is proud to celebrate 35 years of success in promoting and preserving downtown Libertyville at its inaugural Black & White Gala. The Black & White Gala will take place on Saturday, April 27th from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. at the Ivanhoe Club, 28846 N. Thorngate Drive, Ivanhoe, IL.
The event will feature cocktails, an elegant buffet, music, a raffle, and an auction. Brian Floriani, founder of Bernie’s Book Bank, will provide an inspiring keynote speech centered around community engagement. Formal attire reflecting the evening’s black-and-white theme is encouraged.
Attendees will honor and celebrate the work of hundreds of volunteers and community leaders who, over the past 35 years, helped transform downtown Libertyville from underutilized in the 1980s to the pedestrian-friendly and vibrant shopping, dining and entertainment center that it is today.

“We’re looking forward to celebrating this significant milestone with the community and raising additional funds so MainStreet Libertyville can continue fulfilling its mission of preserving and promoting downtown Libertyville,” said Jennifer Johnson, Executive Director.
Today, MainStreet Libertyville hosts more than 55 days of community and retail events that bring thousands of people to the heart of downtown Libertyville. Community events like the Car Fun on 21, the Farmers Market, Lunch in the Park, Trick or Treat on MainStreet and Dickens of a Holiday have become traditions for many local families. Let’s Wine About Winter and First Fridays bring people from all over the Chicagoland area to enjoy the historic charm and independent retailers and restaurants in downtown Libertyville.

Proceeds from the Black & White Gala benefit MainStreet Libertyville, a nationally recognized, not-for-profit volunteer organization dedicated to preserving and promoting downtown Libertyville. Support for MainStreet Libertyville comes from business memberships and residential donations, sponsorship, proceeds from events, and fundraising efforts such as the annual golf outing and Oktoberfest in Libertyville.
MainStreet Libertyville’s activities enhance the economic vitality of Libertyville’s historic downtown and promote the area’s independently owned businesses. The organization has the support of more than 550 residential members and 240 local business members. Community volunteers log an average of 4,000 hours each year planning MainStreet’s activities.
MainStreet Libertyville is an affiliate of Main Street America, a subsidiary of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. For more than 45 years, Main Street America has served to strengthen downtown and neighborhood commercial districts, providing communities with resources and a framework for successful economic development and revitalization efforts.
