ComEd Picks Libertyville For First Training Center In North Suburbs
The Libertyville Overhead Training Center will open at ComEd's headquarters in Libertyville.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — ComEd plans to add a regional training center at its headquarters in Libertyville, with an outdoor training area for line workers being among the features of the new facility.
The 1.67-acre center will be built on a mostly unused parking lot on the southeast corner of the property, which is located at 1500 Franklin Boulevard, and will include a practice climbing area on a series of 40-, 45- and 65-foot tall wooden poles, according to the Daily Herald. There will also be equipment at ground level, including transformers, for those training to become line workers and repair technicians at ground level.
The Libertyville Overhead Training Center will be ComEd's first in the northern suburbs. Other training facilities in northern Illinois are in Chicago, Joliet and Rockford, and those are at capacity, according to the Daily Herald.
