Community Advocacy Program
LCCIL is looking consumers to participate in our Community Advocacy Program!
Are you a person with a disability who is interested in learning more about your local government and how to advocate for yourself or others? Join the Lake County Center for Independent Living’s (LCCIL) community advocacy program (CAP) beginning the first week of March, where we provide you the tools to build your skills in leadership, self-advocacy, and community involvement. This 13 week program will provide the opportunity to travel to our state capital and experience government in action. Meet, greet, and engage with legislators and local government officials to advocate for change within your own communities. We will only be accepting 10 participants, so be sure to lock in a spot before the program is full. Pleas click on the link below to download your application today. If you have any further questions or would like to learn more about CAP, please call LCCIL at (847) 949-4440 or email: Sean at ssweeney@lccil.org, or Ahmad at amshaiel@lccil.org
