Recent Niche.com list ranks District 128 as the 17th best school district in the nation.

Community High School District No. 128 was named the third best school district in Illinois for 2016 by education website niche.com.
Niche’s overall methodology for the list included accounting 50 percent of the overall grade based on academics, and a mix of nine other categories such as health and safety, parent and student survey results and teacher grades accounting for the other half.
The study included 100 school districts in Illinois. District 128 earned an “A+” in eight different areas: Academics, Administration & Policies, Educational Outcomes, Extracurriculars, Health & Safety, Resources & Facilities, Sports & Fitness and Teachers. The school district received an “A” for its food and a “B” for student culture and diversity.

“According to state standards, 84 percent of students in this district are considered proficient in math and/or reading. The district has an annual budget of $75,785,000, spending an average of $22,264 per student. There have been 468 reviews written and they have been mostly positive,” according to the NIche.com ratings.
