Coroner IDs Woman Killed In Hit-And-Run In Lake County
Meanwhile, authorities are searching for the driver accused of hitting the 50-year-old woman with his vehicle in Winthrop Harbor Friday.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — A 50-year-old woman who was killed by a hit-and-ruin driver in Winthrop Harbor has been identified.
Shauna White, of Waukegan died from blunt force injuries sustained in the crash, which happened at about 11:10 p.m. in the 1400 block of Sheridan Road in Winthrop Harbor, the coroner's office said Monday.
An investigation into the collision revealed a vehicle headed north on Sheridan Road hit White and then fled the scene, according to a news release from the Winthrop Harbor Police Department. White was taken to Vista Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

Police are continuing to search for the hit-and-run driver and are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call the Winthrop Harbor Police Department at 847-872-2131.
