Dickens of a Holiday Returns to Downtown Libertyville
Don't miss one of downtown Libertyville's most treasured holiday events on December 7th and 14th, hosted by MainStreet Libertyville.
Dickens of a Holiday returns to downtown Libertyville on Saturday, December 7th and 14th. Santa and Mrs. Claus will greet children in Cook Park, the Children's Holiday Shoppe will be open at Petranek's Pharmacy, and an authentic Victorian Tea will be held at the Libertyville Civic Center (tickets required). Spend a memorable day with friends and family, and savor the holiday season in beautiful downtown Libertyville.
Visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus in picturesque Cook Park each Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. A volunteer MainStreet photographer will be present to assist with capturing the moment. Donations of dry and canned food items are appreciated for the local food pantry.
The Children’s Holiday Shoppe will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each week at Petranek’s Pharmacy. Children ages four through ten are invited to visit the shop and choose up to six gifts for loved ones and friends with the assistance of Santa’s elves. The children’s purchases will be wrapped and labeled on premises, just in time for holiday celebrations.

The popular Victorian Tea will be held at the Libertyville Civic Center beginning at 11:00 a.m. on both Saturdays, December 7th and December 14th, offering a welcome break from the holiday rush to spend time with friends and family. Served by hostesses in authentic Victorian costume, participants will enjoy pastries, scones and finger sandwiches with tea service. Tickets are available for purchase online at www.mainstreetlibertyville.org or by calling the MainStreet Libertyville at (847) 680-0336. Please reserve your seats early, the event is expected to sell out. Tickets are $50 per person.
