District 128 Special Olympians Qualify for State

LIBERTYVILLE, IL -- Two Community High School District 128 students have qualified for state. Special Olympians Hanz Keith and Hanna Krietsch earned gold medals earlier this month at the basketball skills competition at Highland Park High School (pictured in the top left in the photo below). The state competition will be in March, according to a post on the District 128 Facebook page.

District 128 Special Olympians who also participated in the skills competition and received honors were:

• Alex Aquende: 6th place ribbon (pictured in the top row, center)
• Charlie Halperin-- 5th place ribbon (top row, right)
• Luke Bardwill -- silver medal (bottom row right, center)
• Joel Smith -- 5th place ribbon (bottom row center, right)
• Stevie Bogojevic -- silver medal (bottom row center, left)
• Andrew McCarthy - 6th place ribbon (bottom row, left)
