Submission by Libertyville School District 70
Working with the local high school calendar, the Libertyville School District 70 Board of Education unanimously approved a 2016-17 school year calendar that will have the year beginning on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016.
District 70 teachers, who will start school on Aug. 18, will have three institute days before students arrive to help them manage all the changes that are ahead for the school year.

While the feeder high school typically starts school a week ahead of the area elementary schools, District 70’s calendar tends to mirror Libertyville High School for the rest of the school year.
Winter break for District 70 will begin on Dec. 23, 2016 through Jan. 8, 2017, with classes resuming on Jan. 9, 2017.

Spring break will then run from March 27, 2017 through March 31, 2017, with classes resuming on April 3, 2017.
