Dog Days of Summer to Return to Libertyville for 9th Year

The three-day festival will be held July 7 through July 9.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL - Libertyville’s Dog Days of Summer will return to Libertyville for its 9th year July 7 through July 9, Mayor Terry Weppler said. The festival includes the "Dock Dogs Regional Finals" where you can watch as nationally ranked jumping dogs run down a 40-foot dock and jump into a 27,000-gallon pool of water. In addition to the three day non-stop dog jumping competition, dog-oriented events and over 30 vendors will be in Cook Park throughout the weekend.

“The Village of Libertyville will continue to present Dog Days annually. It’s a great event for the Village, as it attracts many out of town visitors as well as providing entertainment for our residents. It allows visitors to discover our beautiful town, some of them for the first time," Weppler said. "In addition, there is no cost to the Village, as sponsors and vendors cover all the costs. It is a wonderful three days to have fun in the sun with your four legged best friend”.

Events at this year's festival will include the Lake County K-9 demo, Saint Lawrence Church’s Sunday morning Multi-Faith Pet Blessing Ceremony and much more.
