Dogs Days of Summer Festival Returns to Libertyville
DockDogs competitions and plenty of pet-friendly fun will be underway this weekend in Libertyville.

The dog days of summer are upon us. And Libertyville is ready to celebrate.
The Dog Days of Summer festival kicked off Thursday and Libertyville and will continue through Sunday.

The DockDogs-Big Air Dog Jumping competition will take place throughout the weekend. During the competition, dogs run down a 40-foot dock and jump into a 27,000 gallon pool.
The dog with the longest leap wins. The competition will include 10 local non-professional dogs. The crowd will help vote on for which dog should win the title of “Libertyville’s Big Air Dog.”

The local competition will be held at 6 p.m. Friday. Additional DockDogs competitions will be held throughout the weekend with the Big Air finals wrapping up Sunday evening.
Other dog-friendly events will be scheduled for Cook Park on Saturday and Sunday, including, a doggy fashion show, pet parade, a 3K dog walk and a dog blessing ceremony.
