Driver, 23, Arrested for Driving 57 MPH Over Speed Limit

A 23-year-old Lake Bluff man faces an excessive speeding charge for driving 57 mph over the posted speed limit on Route 176 during the early morning hours of Dec. 18, police said.

Aaron J. Thaete, of 1120 Foster Avenue in Lake Bluff, was pulled over on Route 176 near St. Mary’s Road at 4:15 a.m., according to a Libertyville Police Department report. He was also cited for reckless driving and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia after police said they located the paraphernalia in his vehicle.

He was taken into custody and released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond. He is next expected in court on Jan. 13.
