Driver Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash In Gurnee
A 68-year-old Waukegan man died at a hospital after his car crashed into a light pole early Friday.
GURNEE, IL — A 68-year-old Waukegan man was killed in a one-vehicle crash in Gurnee early Friday, authorities said.
The collision happened when a blue 2008 Chevy Cobalt headed east on Grand Avenue at Six Flags Parkway ran into a light police on the southeast corner of the intersection at about 2:20 a.m., according to a news release form the Gurnee Police Department.
The driver, Alfonso Dockery Jr., was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead, according to a news release from the Lake County Coroner's Office.

Preliminary autopsy results show Dockery died from blunt force injuries as a result of the crash.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
