Drunk Lake Villa Man Thinks Libertyville Home is His: Police
The man has been cited for public intoxication after he allegedly tried to get into a Libertyville home last weekend.
LIBERTYVILLE, IL – A 21-year-old Lake Villa man was arrested for public intoxication after a Libertyville resident was alerted to a person trying to get into his home through the use of a doorbell camera, according to a police report. The resident was not home at the time and alerted police, who responded to the home in the area of Wheeler Court and West Ellis Avenue at 4:45 a.m. on May 18. Authorities found Matthew Sean Mason, of the 400 block of Red Cedar Road in Lake Villa, in the area.
Police said Mason was extremely intoxicated. He told police he thought he was trying to gain access to his own home in Lake Villa when he went to the front door of the Libertyville home, according to a Libertyville Police Department report.
Mason was cited for public intoxication and then given a ride to the Libertyville Police Department so he could make arrangement for secure transportation to his actual home.
