18th Century Church Founder to appear at the United Methodist Church of Libertyville
The United Methodist
Church of Libertyville is kicking off its 175th year in ministry on September 25, 2011 with a special visit by “John Wesley,” the Anglican Priest from England who began the Methodist movement in the 18th century. Two blended worship services at 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. will feature a dramatic portrayal of the life of Wesley, who at age 70, looks back at his experiences. The program is a mix of wit and wisdom, inspiration and challenge, as gleaned from the journals and writings of Wesley
and interpreted by retired high school communications teacher Fred Moore. Special music by the United Methodist Church of Libertyville Choir and contemporary Praise Band will also be featured during the services. The 10:00 a.m. service will be followed by an all-congregation, Old-Fashioned potluck.
