Acting Conservatory for Teens perform Wilde’s “Earnest”

The Importance of being Earnest, a play by Oscar Wilde,  will be performed by the Improv Playhouse Acting Conservatory for Teens at 7:30pm-9:00pm, Thursday through Saturday April 28-30.  Directed by Erin Neal, “Earnest” is a farcical comedy in which the protagonists maintain fictitious personalities in order to escape burdensome obligations. Working within the social conventions of late Victorian London, the play's major themes are the triviality with which it treats serious institutions and the resulting satire of Victorian ways. Its high farce and witty dialogue have helped make The Importance of Being Earnest Wilde's most enduringly popular play which has been produced at some of the most prestigious theatres in the country.  Members of the cast include Rachel Burns (Highland Park), Nick Carlino (Libertyville), Mary Christopoulos (Buffalo Grove), Sabrina Kabakov (Hawthorn Woods), Julia Koukol (Gurnee), Sara Moss (Prairie View), Megan Ramirez (Libertyville), Saisha Talwar (Lake Forest), and Jordan Yager (Hawthorn Woods).  Brian Strohmayer (Libertyville) Assistant Directs.  Performances are at the I.P. Black Box Theatre, 735.N. Milwaukee Avenue, at the METRA tracks in the Liberty Square Center behind Caribou Coffee.  Tickets are $7.50 in advance for adults and $10 at the door.  $5 for all students any performance.   For ticket information please go to www.improvplayhouse.com or call 847-968-4529.
