Cook Park Library District's BOOK CLUB EXTRAVAGANZA!

Anyone who is in a book club, wants to be in a book club, or simply loves books is invited to Cook Memorial Public Library District's BOOK CLUB EXTRAVAGANZA at the Sullivan Center in Vernon Hills. This year's theme is There's No Mystery to Having a Good Book Club and the Library is honored to present Chicago-area authors Frances McNamara and Joan Naper, who will present A Women's-Eye View of Chicago at the Turn-of-the-Century.

Frances McNamara, a librarian at the University of Chicago, is the author of the Emily Cabot mystery series who is currently working on her fourth book in the series, Death at Woods Hole. Joan Naper, a proud fifth-generation Chicagoan, is the author of Beautiful Dreamer, set in early 1900's Chicago. After their presentation, the authors will be available for Q & A, book sales and signings. Participants can also browse a wide array of ideas that book clubs can use to enhance their reading and discussion experiences. These will include recipes, movies, music, local area tours and more!

For those in children's and parent/child book clubs, there will also be a special appearance by Michele Weber Hurwitz, local area author of Calli Be Gold, a novel for middle grade readers. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Call (847)362-2330 or visit webres.cooklib.org.
