Suburban Potter to Speak to Art Institute Group

The guest speaker at the February 8, 2012  luncheon sponsored by the Libertyville-Mundelein Community Associates of the Art Institute (LMCA) will be Suburban Potter, Neil Estrick.  He is the owner of the Neil Estrick Gallery in Grayslake.  There he showcases pottery by artists from all over the country, including his own work which has been shown in numerous national and international exhibitions.   Neil dissusses the trials and triumphs of owning a pottery studio and gallery in the Chicago area. Part of his talk is a demonstration of his expertise in making pottery on the wheel. 

Guests are welcome. The luncheon will be held at the White Deer Run Golf Clubhouse, 250 W. Greggs Parkway, Vernon Hills, Ill. We will gather at 11:30, Luncheon at 12:00, Lecture at 1:00. Since 1997, (LMCA), one of the 16 branches  of the Community Associates has promoted memebership and participation in the Art museum.  Our group encompasses Libertyville, Mundelein, Vernon Hills, Ivanhoe, Wauconda, Grayslake, Burnee and beyond. We supplement the exhibitions and lectures available at the Art Institute with a variety of programs designed to enhance and enrich art appreciation.  The community Associates are affiliated with the Department of Museum Education and share a focus on adult education.
